Building Spiritual Champions for God!

Welcome to Powell Church Children's Ministry.  Christian Researcher George Barna tells us in his book, Transforming Children Into Spiritual Champions, that a person's spiritual identity is largely set by age 13.  At Powell Church, we believe that God gives us the opportunity to teach our children and Build Spiritual Champions through Children's Ministry.

Our Key Verse:  "Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it."  Proverbs 22:6

Our Mission Statement:  Our Children's Ministry exists to be a place where kids COME to church, HEAR God's Word, ASSIST others in need, MAKE Jesus their Savior, PRAISE God all the time, and SHOW others God's love.

That mission statement parallels our church mission statement and is the basis for all that we do in planning, organizing, and doing our Children's Ministry. From the mission statement comes a great acrostic:        

      Come to church
      Hear God's Word
      Assist others in need
      Make Jesus our Savior
      Praise God all the time
      Show others God's love

Children's Ministry is an exciting place to be as we see God transform not just the lives of our children but also the lives of those who work with and minister to them.
