How Highways and By-Ways Ministry started out. In 1984, Preacher Bob arrived in Knoxville, TN with only two changes of clothes and $25. Preacher Tom Coulter helpd Bob get on his feet and Bob met his wife, Mary. In 1987 Highways and By-Ways Ministry was formed. It was formed to help street souls one-on-one under bridges, railroad tracks, local grave yards and homeless camps in the Knoxville area.
We work with:
- Knoxville's Partner Chamber
- Homeless Coalition
- Compassion Coalition
- Rescue Mission
- Salvation Army and Other organizations for the homeless
During the winter months this year, the Highways and By-ways ministry will be meeting in St. John's Lutheran Church in the conference room on Thursday nights instead of their normal location. Service time will be at 6:00 and the church is on Broadway across from the Old Gray Cemetery. The service will be meeting weekly in the church until March 15th.
