We affirm the historic Nicene and Apostle’s Creeds, truths held together by Christians in every major denomination for 1,700+ years. 

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Jesus is here for the real you. Not the photoshopped version of you, not the perfect versions we’d like to be, but for our real lives. And in Jesus, these real lives encounter the good news of real grace. 

We is greater than me.

From the beginning, a church has been a place where people speak the same words of good news in many different languages. We are a church of republicans and democrats, newborn babies and great grandparents, and every season of life, held together by something greater than any of us that unites all of us. Because of this, we work better together to make a difference in our real community, so Powell Church might be good news for Powell and Knox County even if you don’t go to Powell Church. One body, many parts.

The One who gives us grace and holds us together isn’t just first on a list of things that matter in our lives. Jesus is at the center of absolutely everything, from all creation to all of our lives. In this way, following Jesus transforms our families, our work, our play, and our everyday life. The good news isn’t just for after we die, but here and now. The Kingdom of God is at hand.
